Sustainable oral hygiene and what it means for us
The health of your teeth and gums is a top priority. Choosing a toothbrush should first and foremost be a decision in favor of your own oral health. Sustainability is not a trend for us, but it is present in every step of our decisions.
That's why we were committed to finding the right raw material that was not only sustainable, but also safe.
Product materials
Lignin
The handle of the promis brush is made of lignin, a waste product of the paper industry, with about 50 tons produced each year worldwide. This is a waste product that is, so to speak, recycled. Water repellent, long-lasting antibacterial.
Sugar Cane
Our pipes are made from the waste of sugarcane production, a renewable resource. The plant captures CO2 during its cultivation and reduces pollutant gas emissions.
PET
For the mouthwash, we opted for a PET bottle. 1. it is 100% recyclable , 2. it is lightweight and unbreakable. Glass was not an option as it weighs too much and we cannot guarantee safety during transportation.
Recycled plastic
The floss itself and its case are made of recycled plastic, extracted from Italian plastic bottles .
Natural ingredients
We do not limit ourselves to a well-considered choice of materials, we have also selected the ingredients with such care. Our products are
all-natural, vegan and certified organic (ECOCERT COSMOS ORGANIC & AIAB), as well as packaged with eco-friendly materials and produced in Europe.
FAQ
Bamboo and wooden toothbrushes tend to develop mold if they remain moist. This can form either on the handle or directly on the head of the toothbrush, because compared to traditional toothbrushes, the bristles are not anchored and therefore small cavities remain where moisture can collect. The brushing sensation in the mouth also did not convince us. Those who have already tried it know what we are talking about.
Because our products are sold in different countries, we decided to give the tubes and mouthwash an outer box, so that the language can be more easily varied depending on the destination. In addition, promis comes from Bolzano (South Tyrol), where bilingualism comes naturally to us.
All our materials are 100% recyclable, except for promis brush. This must be disposed of in household waste, which is usually incinerated. However, because it is made from renewable raw materials and not petroleum like traditional toothbrushes, the incineration process is almost carbon-neutral.
