Flossing is used before brushing your teeth.
Take a piece of dental floss about 45-50 cm long and wrap it around the middle finger of both hands.
Using your thumbs and index fingers, gently run the wire between your teeth, taking care not to injure the gums. When you reach the base of the tooth, curve the wire gently around it forming a "C" and make gentle back and forth movements, removing plaque and food debris.
Be sure to use a new piece of floss for each session
of teeth cleaning.

Perhaps you are using it too vigorously. Try using it more gently. If it persists contact your dentist/dental hygienist of choice.
The case is 100% recyclable. The wire is disposed of in unsorted collection.
